A man in Nigeria reportedly had his manhood violently hacked off by his angry first wife who attacked him as he slept – leaving him hospitalised. The man's penis could not be saved
A enraged wife made her cheating husband pay the ultimate price when she cut of his penis while he slept.
The Nigerian woman was said to be extremely distressed when she learned her husband had committed bigamy.
So she repaid his infidelity by hacking off his manhood with a kitchen knife.
Despite the efforts of doctors to save the man's appendage, it is likely he will never have sex again and will have to pee using a catheter, according to local reports.
A report from Taraba State, in the West Africa country, said the first wife, who is believed to be eight-month's pregnant, has now been arrested.
State police told local paper the Sahara Reporters that 32-year-old housewife, Halima Umar, used a knife to inflict the serious injury in the early hours of Wednesday.
The victim was named as Aliyu Umar.
Detective David Misal, a spokesman for the command confirmed to Sahara Reporters that the incident happened in Tells, a community under Gassol the area of the state.
He told the paper: “I can confirm that we have taken the woman who cut off her husband's manhood into custody.”
The younger brother of the victim, Usman Umar said the man was sleeping when his first wife, Halima, sliced his penis.
He told the paper: “We suspect that she must have drugged Umar because ordinarily she would not have succeeded.
“Since Aliyu took a second wife three years ago, Halima became very troublesome.”
Aliyu, who was earlier admitted at Federal Medical Center, Jalingo, has been moved to Federal Medical Center, in Gombe, for treatment, the paper reports.
Bigamy is illegal in Nigeria and in most western cultures including the UK.
In the UK under The Matrimonial Causes Act 1973 it is punishable by up to seven years in prison.
